Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell Main House
by Keith Waterhouse
Based on the life and writings of Jeffrey Bernard, gambler, journalist, fervent alcoholic and four times married.
Through an accident Jeff finds himself locked in at his favourite pub in Soho, the Coach and Horses. Resigned to spending the rest of the night with just a bottle of vodka and cigarettes for company he narrates a story of hilarious anecdotes and witty reminiscences.
The part of Jeffrey Bernard was originated in the West End by Peter OToole. Witty, humane, generous and sad, this is a play about stylish selfdestruction.
