Death falls from the sky and rises from old graves in war-torn Liverpool, as a son and daughter seek to avenge their murdered father. Their mother has taken his killer as her lover, but the vengeance of her children cannot match a more terrifying retribution. As Hitler prepares to invade, and refugees, gravediggers and deserters wander the streets and woods of the city, a mesmerising Dance of Death is choreographed by the ancient power of the May Queen, Mother of God.
