Alan Marshall is always a popular director to work for and going to his rehearsals it’s easy to see why. Always engaging, interesting and creative he manages a studio full of actors with ease. As to the show, it looks really good and promises to be one of the more visceral ‘Caesars’ one is likely to see. The Crescent takes a breather from the stage for two weeks but will be back with JC on April 16th in the Ron Barber Studio.
Next up in the Crescent Theatre studio is a new adaptation (by director Andrew Cowie) of Schiller’s classic text, ‘Mary Stuart’. This is my favourite image from the first dress rehearsal but it was only taken because I wanted a full length shot of Elizabeth’s (actress Naomi Gilbert) frock for the costume designer. Lucky. The Youth Theatre are back in the Rob Barber Studio this Friday and Saturday with the cautionary tale of ‘The Terrible Fate of Humpty Dumpty’. Tickets are always popular to see the Crescent young actors so make sure you book this promenade performance soon.

The Changeling is now on in the studio until the 15th May. Book your tickets now!
This weekends deadline was for the Festen publicity image which I very much like. Thanks to actors Matt Bartlett and Andrew Cowie for giving up their time and to Matt Banwell at Aptronym.co.uk for the design work.

Acorn Antiques by Victoria Woods is another ambitious production at the Crescent that we’re all looking forward to. Today’s rehearsal was all about learning the choreography for Mrs O’s entrance!
