Commanding demons and controlling storms, a lone man walks out of the desert and, gathering a nation around him, he walks towards certain death in an unoccupied land. Ridding the tale of two thousand years of religious baggage, Applecart presents Mark's Gospel combining drama, storytelling, music and film to tell a story of revolution and courage.
Offering an alternative to the Globe Mysteries and the Radio 4 “Reading’s‟ series, the production was last performed at the Leicester Square Theatre, London and received a hugely positive audience response. Using fresh and contemporary language and theatrical styles, the company’s aim is to strip the Biblical text of its religious impositions and return the story to its original oral, socio-political narrative. The running time for i am Mark is 2 hrs including a 20 minute interval, and has a cast of 4 with accompanying musicians.
