Audience Reactions:

"I brought my granddaughter to Grimm Tales yesterday and it was the best piece of children's theatre I've seen in years! We loved every moment! The actors were wonderful, they created very exciting characters that made us giggle (and wince!). The whole show was beautifully directed, James David Knapp has created a wonderful show. We hope to come again!" G.H.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the show which bought back childhood memories. Thank you cast. Thank you all members and staff." H.G.

"Excellent production. Talented cast and crew made this a truly enjoyable night out." J.D.

"What a magical production! First thing to grab my attention was the beautiful set, which continued to amaze as the production went on, a grand staircase at the back, beautiful wooden trees which were moved and lit to create the different locations for the different stories, and the 'story box' which allowed cast members to come up onto the stage magically out of nowhere! (I could hear the cries of wonder from the many children in the audience!) The cast themselves were a delight to watch and listen to. Choral speaking is a difficult nut to crack, and they certainly did this to great effect, director James David Knapp clearly worked hard on this with all of them. The cast were all dressed in pyjamas, which was reminiscent of having these stories told to you as a child before bedtime - yet when the individual characters emerged they transformed into some of the most beautiful costumes (such as The Moon, The Sun and The Wind in Lady and the Lion.). It's hard to pick stand out performances but I do have a few favourite moments. Firstly, the hilarious chase in The Golden Goose, with Jordan Bird leading the way as Dumling. The dynamic fight between Tamsen Oatey's Dragon Princess and Lindsey Davies' Lady in The Lady and the Lion. I could go on as there were so many moments which I thoroughly enjoyed. I 100% recommend seeing this show whatever age you are, it's enchanting for all ages whether you are 5 or 50!" Anon.

"A wonderful night at the theatre watching a multi-talented cast tell the original dark fairy tales (but funny in all the right places). Stunning sets and settings with brilliant incidental music. Although it was visually lovely it still let the audience use their imagination. I kept forgetting I wasn't a child myself. Do take young families if you still get the chance. Very highly recommended." Anon

"It was great fun. Really interesting stories and great music. A magical experience for children and adults." Anon
