Based on Hugo Hamilton’s bestselling memoir, the play tells the story of a boy trapped in the language war between the Irish of his Nationalist father, the German of his immigrant mother and the English outside in the streets of 1950s Dublin.
A gripping, poignant and often hilarious drama unfolds as the boy struggles with what it means to be ‘speckled’ – half Irish and half German.
