In this passionate and thought provoking drama, legendary Mexican poet Juana Inés de la Cruz writes expressive, sensual verse at the Viceroy’s court in the 1660s, when it was sinful for women to exercise their intellect. Celebrated by the Court but silenced by the Church, she is betrayed by the very people she thought she could trust.
