Aberdeenshire folksinger, Iona Fyfe, has become one of Scotland’s ﬁnest young ballad singers, rooted deeply in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland.
Cameron Nixon is a Scots Singer and Fiddler from Peterculter, Aberdeen.
Combining their rich voices in harmony with ﬁddle and piano, Iona and Cameron tap into their mutual passion and love of their shared North East Scots Tradition
A nominee for Scots Singer of the Year at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 2017, at just 20 years old, Iona released her debut solo album, Away From My Window in 2018, featuring a stellar folk line-up of Luc McNally (Dosca), Tim Edey, Charlie Grey, Simon Gall (Salsa Celtica) among others. Iona was the third winner of the Trip to Birmingham Irish Trad Fest Molloy Award in 2017 and was a semi-ﬁnalist in the Radio 2 Young Folk Award in 2015 and 2017.
Cameron attended Plockton Music School where he recorded on Sgoil Chiùil na Gàidhealtachd’s 2016 album, The Right Path. After attending The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton, Cameron continued his studies at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, formerly the RSAMD.
