How to Book

On-line: Check out ‘What’s On‘ and visit the event page to book your tickets securely online.  Note:  The booking process uses a cookie to store your booking data.  If you block all cookies, any online booking will fail.  Please ensure that third party cookies are enabled or you have exceptions for both AND

Ticket Reservations (From August 1st 2019)

Tickets can be reserved for payment up to 7 days before the start of the performance. After this time, tickets will automatically be released for resale.  Same day reservations are not permitted, tickets booked on the date of the performance require immediate payment.

Seating Plan

Seating in the Ron Barber Studio is unreserved. As the layout will often change depending on the type of show, we cannot supply a seating plan for this space. For more information on the seating arrangements for a particular Studio show, please contact the Box Office team who will be able to assist you.

School/Group Reservations

Required tickets will be reserved and an Invoice will be issued payable no later than 30 days of receipt of the invoice, or 30 days prior to the event, whichever is sooner. If the booking is made within this time limit payment is due at time of booking and no tickets will be reserved until payment is received. Once full payment in cleared funds is received the booking will be confirmed. All tickets are non-refundable; once the booking has been confirmed tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. The primary booker’s direct telephone number is required. Bookings cannot be taken solely with the school or organisation telephone number. Bookings of ten or more tickets will qualify as a group booking.

Discounts and Concessions

Concessions and discounts are available for some performances. Any concession or discount must be requested at the time of booking and the purchaser may be requested to provide proof of entitlement both at time of purchase and at time of attendance. All concessions and discounts are subject to availability, can be withdrawn at the discretion of The Management without prior notice, and cannot be applied retrospectively to tickets already purchased.

Booking/Transaction Charges

The advertised price of the ticket is the price you pay. We do not add transaction fees to the full advertised ticket price. However, please note that we also work as a ticket agent for external companies and as such have little or no control on ticketing for these events.


Tickets can be posted if requested at time of booking. Tickets are despatched within 5 working days of the order being placed. Should tickets not arrive the purchaser should contact Box Office; replacement tickets will be available for collection on the day of the performance. We CANNOT re-post lost tickets. A non-refundable charge of £1.50 per order is made for postal delivery.

Lost/Damaged Tickets

Reprints of lost or damaged tickets can be provided. A £1 fee may be applied at the discretion of the Box Office Manager.

Disabled & Carer Access

The Crescent is fully accessible to Patrons with limited ability. A half price ticket is available for an Assisting Companion (Carer) to accompany a disabled person requiring support.

Third Party Ticket Sales (Tickets produced by The Crescent for sale by producing companies)

Charges and allocations may vary and patrons are advised to check carefully when making their booking through any third party ticket seller. The Crescent takes no responsibility for tickets purchased through a third party ticket seller. Bookings made through a third party ticket seller are subject to the terms and conditions as specified by the third party ticket seller. Any exchanges or refunds must be sought directly from the third party ticket seller.


Every effort will be made to admit latecomers within a suitable break in the performance. If it is deemed by The Management that the admission of latecomers would prove disruptive to the performance, or at the request of the producing company, it may not be possible to admit latecomers.

Children & Babes In Arms

Children under 18 months are welcome to attend performances of designated Children’s Shows. It is acceptable for children to sit on the lap of an adult however if they are over 18 months old a ticket must still be purchased for them. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bad Weather/Outdoor Events

Every effort will be made to ensure performances take place as scheduled. In the event of weather conditions forcing the cancellation of the entire performance, a full or partial refund may be offered at the discretion of The Management. Should a performance go ahead regardless of weather conditions, a change of venue be deemed necessary by The Management to enable the performance to take place, or if at least 30 minutes of a performance has already taken place, refunds will not be available. Please note that some of the Summer Tour venues have a strict no refunds policy, please ensure you check the details on the event page prior to booking for more details.

Recording Equipment

The use of visual and/or audio recording equipment within the auditoria is strictly prohibited. All persons are requested to switch off mobile and communicative devices, tablets computers, pagers, and watch alarms, as they are an irritant to both performers and audience.

On-line: On each production page there is a Book-tickets link where you can select a performance from a drop-down list and add tickets to a ‘Basket’ of items. When you have selected all the tickets you require you can proceed to a checkout to pay for them. In order to use this facility you will need to set up an account with an e-mail address and password.

All credit and debit card information is processed by our partner organisations – Spektrix, Cardnet, Sagepay & Worldpay – who manage all our ticketing on their fully secured server. No card details are retained on Crescent Theatre Ltd systems.

By Post: Postal payments can only be accepted for tickets you have already reserved. Please enclose a cheque (made payable to The Crescent Theatre Limited) with a SAE or add £1.50 to the total to cover postage. If the payment supplied does not cover the full transaction costs including costs of postage should you nominate for tickets to be mailed out, the cheque will be returned to you and the reserved tickets released for sale.
