“It’s a love story ... a romantic - comedy” (Evan Placey).

As childhood sweethearts, Isabella and Josh had planned to spend their lives together. But, in their final year at school, Isabella has now become a boy, Dean.

The play powerfully explores the impact on friends, family and others of Dean’s decision to undergo gender transition – and his quest to be not merely ‘tolerated’ but to be admired and cherished.

At a time when issues connected with transgender are becoming increasingly important, particularly to young people, the Crescent Youth Theatre is proud to present this important and challenging play .
