‘The Terror’ is the name historians have given to the darkest, most bloody part of the French Revolution, haunting Europe’s imagination since 1790.
Revisiting Queen Catherine de Medici of France’s dreadful Huguenots massacre at her daughter’s wedding at the same time as the USA’s display of Che Guevara’s body in an atrocity exhibition, The Terror is both unsettling and beautiful.
