The Trust is the independent charity which owns the Crescent Theatre building. This separates the day to day management of the theatre company from the longer term strategic planning and development needed to ensure that there will always be a Crescent Theatre. The Trust was set up in 1963, when the Crescent moved from its original premises to Cumberland Street, in order to hold the lease and own the building. This continued with the 1998 move to Brindleyplace.
